Being on time is more than a rule. It is a habit that helps every Phoenix protect learning time, respect others, and prepare for success.
🔥 The Phoenix Standard
At WSPA, students are expected to arrive on time, stay in class, and have a pass or permission when leaving class or traveling in common areas. This helps keep the school safe, focused, and ready for learning.
✅ Arrive on Time
Be in the building, in your classroom, in your seat, and ready for class before the bell.
📚 Stay in Class
Protect your learning time and avoid unnecessary hallway movement.
🟨 Use a Pass
Have permission before leaving class or moving through common areas. Ask your teacher for a pass if one is not offered. It is your responsiblity to have one!

🕗 Know the Time
If you arrive after 8:10 a.m. or any other time during the day, report to Student Services first to sign in and receive a yellow pass before going to class.
✅ Examples of Excused Tardies
- Late bus
- Morning doctor or dentist appointment
- Confirmed family emergency
Reminder: Turn in your excuse note to the Student Services office.
🚫 Examples of Unexcused Tardies
- You woke up late or overslept.
- Your alarm did not go off.
- You walked and left home late.
Bottom line: Plan ahead so you can arrive ready.

🤔 Did You Know?
Being just 10 minutes late per day can add up to almost an hour per week and about 1.5 weeks of school per year.
Small minutes can add up to major missed learning time.
🚶 Transition Expectations
- Middle School Students may not stop at the restroom during class transitions.
- Report to class first, then request a restroom break when your teacher is not in the middle of instruction.
- High School Students may use the restroom on the 2nd and 3rd floor.
- No passes during the first 10 minutes or last 10 minutes of a class period.
- Students who arrive after half of the class period may be marked absent for that period.
🎯 Forward Focus
Students who are repeatedly tardy may receive increased parent communication and afterschool Forward Focus sessions. The goal is not just consequences. The goal is to help students build better habits and protect learning time.
